Woodlands Park and Waima
In Waima, the majority of residences are clustered around the Waima Superette and Waima Reserve.
The reserve has a playground, basketball court and sports field. Make sure to walk or run The Pipeline or Exhibition Drive, popular tracks that start from the Lower Nihotipu Reservoir at the top of Woodlands Park Road.
Woodlands Park is a small, active community nestled in the Waitakere Ranges. Most housing was built in the 1950’s to 1970’s and lies within native bush. The local kindy and school form the communal heart of the area and you’ll also find a dairy and mechanic.
Woodlands Perk is a bit of a local secret and well worth the stop! Bill serves fantastic Kokako Coffee seven days a week from his window at the Woodlands Park Store on Huia Road.
Located in Minnehaha Avenue, Woodlands Park Kindy is an independent, registered charity community group run by a management board of parents. They offer an environment that encourages 3 to 5 year olds to experience, share and understand their world.
With a roll of around 350 students, Woodlands Park School has a strong community spirit and prides itself on being a small school with a big heart. The Board and management encourage community use of the school hall, pool, playing fields and other facilities.
